Well Known Litigator and Senior eDiscovery Consultant Joins eDiscovery Solutions Group

Well known product liability litigator and in-house counsel to Fortune 50 corporations has joined the eDiscovery Solutions Group International Consortium

New York, New York (PRWeb) July 15 2009 - eDiscovery Solutions Group announced today that Jeffrey Reed, a well known product liability litigator and in-house counsel to Fortune 50 corporations has joined the eDiscovery Solutions Group International Consortium.

As an attorney who has handled litigation for more than 27 years. Mr. Reed has had many years of experience both as in-house counsel to Fortune 50 corporations as well as for national law firms. As a specialist in product liability litigation, Mr. Reed has managed and had first-chair responsibility for hundreds of cases throughout the country involving numerous industries.

Mr. Reed began his eDiscovery experience when he managed the quality and efficiency of the document review process arising from nationwide pharmaceutical litigation. His 5-year project involved more than 40 million pages of documents reviewed by more than 200 attorneys in 5 cities using 3 primary and many secondary languages. Mr. Reed not only hired, trained, and supervised these attorneys, but he also created the document review protocols and quality-control procedures to ensure that relevant documents were appropriately analyzed in terms of the important legal issues in these cases. He also became the principal day-to-day contact between the law firm and the primary e-discovery vendor. His responsibilities included supervising U.S. and international document collections, establishing best practices to ensure the completeness and integrity of the document database, and tracking priorities and allocating staff so that document productions met established deadlines.

His projects have included litigation readiness plans, data mapping, and creation of litigation hold plans, as well as collection, processing, review, and production using best practices and standards (FRCP, Sedona Conference, and EDRM among them). He is familiar with a broad range of systems/software, including Arete Legal/ASEEdge, Attenex, Cataphora, Clearwell, Concordance, Digital Mountain, Epiq, iConnect/iPro, Kroll, Merrill/Lextranet, Ringtail, and Summation.

Mr. Reed has provided eDiscovery guidance to clients and spoken on e-discovery issues at in-house and outside CLEs and on a podcast for ESI Bytes. He has served as a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Discovery and is also a member of Sedona’s Special Project Team for Litigation Holds and the Special Project Team on Search & Retrieval Technology.

Mr. Reed graduated magna cum laude from the University of Virginia in 1979, where he was awarded the annual history honors prize. In 1982 he earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. At Pitt, he was associate editor of The Journal of Law and Commerce. He currently lives with his wife in Wilmington , Delaware.
